What is a POI file?
POI files contain coordinates and descriptions for a set of locations (which are commonly referred to as "POI" or "Points of Interest"). Many newer GPS models are able to use this data to show what's nearby or even give an alert as you get close to a location (such as a red light enforcement camera).
How to create new POI using Google Maps?
- Click on Add/Edit POI menu and you will see a Google Maps.
- Click on any location you want and you can see the Latitude and Longitude entered automatically in the form on the right.
- Enter your details, click "Save" and you are done.
- Your POI Database will be listed on the left bar.
How do I add public POI to My POI list?
- Click on Public POI menu and you will see a Google Maps.
- Select your State and category and you will see the POI list.
- Click on your favourite POI and at the details, choose "Add to My POI".
How do I download a POI file and put in my GPS device?
To download, you'll need a Papago POI Manager Application to transfer locations to your GPS and a user account.
How to share my map link?
- Select your prefered POI from your POI database.
- Click on "Get MAP URL".
- Copy the URL link at the top bar and share with your friends and family.
Note: Private POI cannot be shared
What is the different between Public POI and BigMap?
Public POI is all Public POI inserted by our members while BigMap is an open map provided by Google. You can search any place using Google data using BigMap. You can also save this data to your own POI for future refference.
